Can I plug my Human Touch chair into a power strip?
Yes. A Human Touch® massage chair may be connected to a compatible power strip or surge protector when the device is properly grounded and rated to support the chair’s electrical requirements.
A basic power strip and a surge protector are not necessarily the same. A power strip provides additional electrical outlets, while a surge protector is designed to provide additional protection against voltage spikes.
Does the chair have built-in surge protection?
Human Touch massage chairs include built-in surge-protection circuits designed to protect against moderate voltage spikes.
If you would like additional protection, you may place a compatible third-party surge protector between the grounded wall outlet and the chair.
Electrical safety requirements
When using a power strip or surge protector:
- Use a properly grounded, three-prong device.
- Confirm that it is rated for the chair’s voltage and power requirements.
- Connect it directly to a properly grounded wall outlet.
- Do not connect multiple power strips or surge protectors together.
- Do not overload the device with multiple high-power appliances.
- Do not use a damaged power cord, power strip, surge protector, plug, or electrical outlet.
- Position cords where they will not be pinched by the chair or create a tripping hazard.
Review the electrical, safety, and grounding instructions in your product’s Use and Care Manual before connecting the chair.
