MASSAGE CHAIR
The Super Novo X captivates with its unibody flex design, delivering dual multidimensional massage along the entire length of your spine and all the way down to your glutes. Experience a synchronized, four-hand massage in the Super Novo X’s Horizon Rest position for maximum comfort and relaxation. Enjoy Meditation programs that combine a soothing soundtrack with your massage, helping you focus your breathing and achieve a relaxed state of being. The Yoga Studio programs use deep stretching and pressure to loosen and relieve pain from tight muscles.
Allow yourself to be fully immersed in the enveloping melody of your favorite music by connecting to the built-in, premium Sound by JBL via Bluetooth, or play one of eight calming built-in Sound Soothe nature tracks and feel the stress simply melt away from your body. Download the intuitive Human Touch App to your Android or iOS device and suddenly your phone becomes an elegant controller for the chair.
Just slide in to relax and recover in style with the Super Novo X’s Teardrop Doors that pivot upward for easy entry—and exit, though you’ll never want to.
When deciding where to place your Super Novo X, consider the following:
• Place the unit on a flat surface, away from direct sunlight or any other direct heat source (to avoid fading).
• If you wish to place the unit on a hard surface, it is recommended that you place a piece of carpet or a soft mat underneath it to avoid damaging the floor (minimum 48” x 28”).
• To accommodate the footrest when deployed, make sure the area in front of the chair is clear for at least 24”.
• To ensure the chair does not hit the wall when reclining, make sure there is a 2” clearance behind it.
MOVING THE CHAIR
CAUTION: To avoid injury to yourself and damage to the product, always use two or more people to move the chair.
IMPORTANT: When moving a fully assembled chair, you MUST remove the foot/calf massager.
1. Person 1, grasp the inside of the headrest, behind the shoulder air bags.
2. Person 1, push downward on the headrest to rotate the chair onto its mobility wheels. Person 2, assist by lifting the front of the chair.
3. Roll the chair to the desired location.
4. Gently lower the chair to the floor.
WARNING: Dropping the front of the chair to the floor may damage the chair and/or floor.
Your Super Novo X comes with a battery backup system, which enables you to incline the chair one time to exit the chair in the event of a power failure (batteries not included). You will need four (4), high-quality, 9V alkaline batteries to power the battery backup system.
To install the batteries:
1. Lift up, or remove, the foot and calf massager.
2. Locate the access panel cover and remove.
3. Attach four (4) 9V batteries to the four (4) battery connectors. The negative (-) terminal should be positioned on the top of each battery.
4. Replace the access panel cover.
5. Gently lower, or reinstall, the foot/calf massager.
1. Plug the power cord into a grounded 120-volt outlet.
2. Turn the power switch on the rear of the chair to ON.
IMPORTANT: Replace the batteries after each battery backup use, or once a year if unused

2. Press the Power button on the Remote Control. The Menu screen will show.
3. Press the Power button on the Remote Control again, the Paused screen will be shown.
4. Use the Navigtaion Ring directional pad to select ‘Power Off’.
5. Wait for the chair to be fully restored. After full restore the chair and Remote Control will power off.
6. Press the Power button on the Remote Control. Normal Use and Operation can now begin.
Your Super Novo X features state-of-the-art Teardrop Doors. This feature allows you to easily take your place in the chair to enjoy a world-class massage and exit, feeling invigorated.
To Open Teardrop Doors:
1. If the chair is asleep, double tap either door touch panel to wake up the chair. Touch panel LED will light blue.
2. Tap and hold the door touch panel for three (3) seconds until the blue LED starts to flash.
3. Release the touch panel.
To Close Teardrop Doors:
When seated in chair, tap and hold the opposite door’s touch panel until fully closed.
Lights blue when the door can be opened. Just tap and hold the touch panel until the blue light begins to flash and the door begins to lift, then release.
Lights red when the door is locked. To unlock, restore the chair to the full upright and rear position.
Alternative Method:
You can also use the handheld remote to open or close the Teardrop doors.
1. Use the navigation ring and center navigation ring button to select the DOOR icon on the MENU screen.
2. Select which door you would like to operate and the OPEN or CLOSE option, then press and hold the center navigation ring button to activate.
WARNING: Ensure all body parts, loose clothing, or other objects are removed from the path of the door.
NOTE: The doors open automatically but close manually. If you release the touch panel, or CLOSE button, the motion will stop.
NOTE: The doors are equipped with several safety sensors to prevent accidental entrapment. If the door motion is paused unexpectedly, please refer to the remote screen for additional information.
The status screen displays during your massage, providing a quick reference for the following information. This handy display not only shows the current status for each of the settings, but allows you to configure the settings indicated below in orange. Use the up/down navigation buttons to toggle through the settings, use the right/left buttons to adjust them, then use the center navigation ring button to make your selection. NOTE: If a setting is grayed out, that setting is not adjustable during the current massage.
MENU — Press to display the main menu. When a massage is active, press again to POWER / PAUSE / RESTORE

• To power on the remote.
• To pause the massage and display the following options:
RESUME - select to resume the massage where you left off.
POWER OFF - select to stop all functions and
restore the chair to the upright position before exiting.

status screen.
CLOUD — When the status screen is displayed and Cloud Touch is active, press to toggle through

• Adjust the vertical massage range after AcuPoint® Body Sensing.
• Adjust the vertical massage range during an auto program. See Adjusting Vertical Massage
Range on page 36.
• Move the upper 3D massage rollers to the desired position when enjoying a Zone or Spot massage. See Using Manual Massage Modes on page 22 for more information. NOTE: During a Zone or Spot massage, the lower, 2D massage mechanism automatically syncs it’s position.

The easiest way to enjoy a massage is to simply choose from 38 preconfigured auto programs. From a large selection of core auto programs with variations, to three MEDITATION programs, and three 4D programs, your Super Novo X offers a simple, soothing solution for every need.
There are seven core auto programs on the PROGRAMS menu, each with four variations (with the exception of YOGA STUDIO, which has five).
1. From the main menu, select PROGRAMS to display the PROGRAMS menu.
TENSION RELIEF - Focused on relieving tension throughout the body.
YOGA STUDIO - Programs designed to relax, calm and stretch your whole body.
PERFORMANCE - Delivers an intense massage to supercharge your day.
FULL BODY - Invigorating massage for the whole body.
UPPER BODY - Focused massage for the neck, shoulders, back and arms. LOWER BODY - Focused massage for the feet, calves, thighs and gluteal region. DEMO - Demonstrates all of the chair’s massage techniques.
CAUTION: The YOGA STUDIO programs contain a fairly intense stretch component. Hold the remote in your hand the first time you experience a YOGA STUDIO program so that you can stop the massage if the stretch is too intense for you. Also, for a less intense stretch, go to SETTINGS, STRETCH and set the stretch mode to OUT.
2. Before selecting an auto program, make sure your feet are pressed firmly against the bottom of the foot and calf massage wells.
IMPORTANT: Shortly after the massage begins, the foot and calf massager extends/ retracts to measure the length of your legs. The program then uses this information to tailor your massage to your leg length. If your feet are not pressed firmly against the bottom rear or front tip of the foot/calf massager wells, your leg length cannot be
measured, and the program will not function properly (for example, the stretch function will not activate).
3. Select the desired auto program group to display the program list. The core program displays at the top of the group, followed by variations of that program.
For all auto programs other than YOGA STUDIO, the program variations are as follows:
SHIATSU - A varied massage, using soft, medium, and aggressive intensities.
SWEDISH - A moderate massage using soft to medium intensity.
SPORTS - A massage that starts soft and increases to an aggressive intensity.
THAI - A massage that begins aggressively and decreases to a soft intensity.
YOGA STUDIO programs are as follows:
STRETCH - Relaxing massage with bend and stretch functionality to provide leg and spine extension.
ENERGIZE - Vigorous massage with stimulating percussion, a perfect way to begin your day.
FLEXIBILITY - A massage to loosen and flex muscles accompanied by Cloud Touch Acupressure air compression in the feet and shoulders.
BALANCE - Symmetric massage designed to restore your center.
BREATHE - Rhythmic massage to help you focus your breathing and concentration. RECOVER - Intense massage for focused healing to assist in recovery with greater efficiency.
4. Select the desired program.
5. If the ACUPOINT setting on the SETTINGS menu is set to AUTO, the ACUPOINT ADJUST SHLDR HGT DETECTING screen displays; the massage mechanism
scans your back and automatically maps your massage for maximum effectiveness.
6. When AcuPoint® Body Sensing is complete, the ACUPOINT ADJUST SHLDR HGT ADJUST screen displays; use the remote POSITION buttons to adjust the shoulder height, if desired.
7. If the ACUPOINT setting on the SETTINGS menu is set to MANUAL, the SHLDR HEIGHT screen displays. Set the shoulder height to the desired position, ranging from small (1) to large (9). Your massage will automatically be mapped to the selected shoulder height, for maximum effectiveness.

8. Sit back and enjoy a world-class massage!
After selecting an auto program, the chair can either automatically detect your shoulder height to map the massage to your back, or you can set your shoulder height manually. This setting is saved until you change it, even if the chair is powered off and on again.
1. From the MAIN MENU, select SETTINGS to display the SETTINGS menu, then scroll down to the second screen.
2. Select ACUPOINT, then select AUTO (default) or MANUAL.
While 2D massage programs massage vertically and horizontally, and 3D programs add depth, 4D programs take massage one step further to include the dimension of variable speed. Massage strokes speed up and slow down mid-stroke, just like the hands of a professional massage therapist, for the most realistic massage yet!
1. From the main menu, select 4D PROGRAMS to display the 4D PROGRAMS menu.
2. Choose from the following:
STRETCH - A massage that starts soft and increases to an aggressive intensity. SHIATSU - A varied massage, using soft, medium, and aggressive intensities. SWEDISH - A moderate massage using soft to medium intensity.
Three meditation programs provide the perfect compliment to any meditation by combining relaxing massage with an immersive Sound Soothe nature track.
1. From the MAIN MENU, select MEDITATION to display the MEDITATION menu.
2. Choose from the following:
SLEEP - Intense back stretch for deep muscle penetration as you wind down to the sounds of twilight. CONCENTRATION - Sync your breath with the rhythmic movement of the chair, and let the sounds of melodic wind chimes relax you into deep meditation.
UNWIND - Relax with acupressure for a deep and soothing massage with the enveloping sounds of nature.
3. Customize your MEDITATION massage from the MEDITATION menu by selecting
FOCUS.
4. Choose from the following:
FULL - Massages your full back.
ZONE - Focuses your massage in a three-inch zone. Use the POSITION buttons to position the massage zone where you want it.
SPOT - Massages your back in a single spot. Use the POSITION buttons to position the massage exactly where you need it.
NOTE: When selecting ZONE or SPOT, the massage changes to Manual Mode.
Your Super Novo X also lets you customize your own massage using the MANUAL massage modes. Start by choosing from six different robotic massage techniques, then focus your massage range.
From the MAIN MENU, select MANUAL to display the MANUAL massage menu. From this menu you can customize your back massage mode, focus, width, and speed.
NOTE: Manual mode settings do not affect AUTO, MEDITATION, or 4D programs.
NOTE: You can also configure tthe manual massage style, focus, and adjustment settings from the status screen.
See page 10 for more information.
Customize your manual massage selections to your liking by adjusting several settings. Adjustments can be made when the massage status screen is displayed. Use the navigation buttons to select and adjust the settings you desire.
You can also add up to six Cloud Touch air compression massage zones, plus soothing heat to help loosen back muscles.
You can enjoy an independent Cloud Touch Acupressure air compression massage, choosing from one or more massage areas and setting the intensity.
NOTE: The CLOUD TOUCH intensity setting also applies to AUTO, MEDITATION, and 4D programs.
1. From the MAIN MENU, select CLOUD TOUCH to display the CLOUD TOUCH menu.
2. Select FOCUS, then select the area(s) you wish to activate (the default is FULL), or select OFF to turn Cloud Touch Acupressure off.
Your Super Novo X has heat in the backrest area. To access the heat controls:
Press the heat fingertip control button on the left-hand armrest or the HEAT button on the remote to turn the heat on or off.
TIP: When the status screen is displayed, press the CLOUD button on the remote to toggle through the CLOUD TOUCH intensity level adjustments. The selected intensity displays next to CLDINTSTY in the upper left corner of the status screen.
You can also use the navigation buttons to adjust the Cloud Touch intensity in the upper left-hand corner. See page 10 for more information.
This setting returns to SOFT (default) when the chair is powered off and on again.
You can adjust your robotic massage intensity to suit your current need, and set the desired massage duration.
You can set your massage duration to 10 (default), 20, or 30 minutes, from either the SETTINGS menu or the status screen. This setting is saved until you change it, even if the chair is powered off and on again.

1. From the MAIN MENU, select SETTINGS to display the SETTINGS menu.
2. Select TIME, then select the desired massage duration.
You can choose from five robotic massage intensity settings, which affect both auto and manual massage programs. This setting returns to SOFT (default) when the chair is powered off and on again.
NOTE: A massage program must be active before you can select a massage intensity. You cannot set massage intensity during MEDITATION programs.
To set massage duration from the status screen, use the up/down navigation buttons to select the massage time remaining, then use the left/right buttons to set the desired duration. NOTE: If a massage is currently in progress, the selected duration overrides any time remaining in the current massage session.
1. From the MAIN MENU, select SETTINGS to display the SETTINGS menu.
2. Select MSG INTENSITY, then select the desired back massage intensity.
TIP: When the status screen is displayed, use the navigation buttons to configure the intensity (INTSTY) setting in the upper left-hand corner.
You can set the underfoot roller speed to SLOW, MEDIUM, or FAST. You can also turn the rollers OFF. This setting affects both auto and manual massage programs. This setting returns to SLOW (default) when the chair is powered off and on again.
1. From the MAIN MENU, select SETTINGS to display the SETTINGS menu.
2. Select UNDERFOOT SPD, then select SLOW, MEDIUM, FAST, or OFF.
TIP: When the status screen is displayed, use the navigation buttons to configure the underfoot speed (UNDFTSPD) setting in the upper left-hand corner.
Your Super Novo X calf massager has a lot of flexibility. You can adjust the speed of the orbital calf motion and control the underfoot roller speed.
You can adjust the speed of the orbital calf massage motion to SLOW, MED (medium), or FAST. You can also turn the orbital motion OFF. This setting affects only the auto and 4D programs. The setting returns to SLOW (default) when the chair is powered off and on again.
1. From the MAIN MENU, select SETTINGS to display the SETTINGS menu.
2. Select CALF MASSAGE, then select SLOW, MEDIUM, FAST, or OFF.
Foot massage too soft? Remove the softening soles from underneath your feet. Simply pull the softening soles from the pouches through the opening on the inside edge of the foot well.

For those programs that include the Stretch feature, you can choose whether to stretch your legs outward or downward. You can also configure the chair’s BLUETOOTH setting, which must be ON to use SOUND SOOTHE, and to play music through the chair’s premium Sound by JBL speakers.
The YOGA STUDIO, 4D STRETCH, and DEMO programs all include a STRETCH feature. You can set the stretch direction to stretch your legs either OUT or DOWN. You can also turn the STRETCH feature OFF. This setting returns to DOWN (default) when the chair is powered off and on again.
1. From the MAIN MENU, select SETTINGS to display the SETTINGS menu.
2. Select STRETCH, then select DOWN, OUT, or OFF.
CAUTION: The stretch is fairly intense. Hold the remote in your hand the first time you experience one of the programs that contains stretch so that you can stop the massage if the stretch is too intense for you. For a less intense stretch, set the STRETCH direction to OUT. For a more intense DOWN stretch, push your legs out as far as you can while the footrest is measuring your leg length.
Your massage chair contains built-in, high-quality, premium Sound by JBL speakers to which you
can connect via Bluetooth. It’s important to ensure that the BLUETOOTH setting is set to ON (default) before using SOUND SOOTHE, or playing music through the chair’s speakers. This setting is saved until you change it, even if the chair is powered off and on again.
1. From the MAIN MENU, select SETTINGS to display the SETTINGS menu.
2. Select BLUETOOTH, then verify that it is set to ON. The massage chair is now discoverable by your device.
3. Using your device, scan for Bluetooth devices and select SUPER NOVO X (chair serial number) to connect.
See your device instructions for more information.
4. Enjoy your favorite music along with your favorite massage!
You can choose to display all interface text in either English (default), Chinese, Korean, or Vietnamese.
1. From the MAIN MENU, select SETTINGS to display the SETTINGS menu.
2. Select LANGUAGE, then select the desired language.
If you select a non-English language that you do not understand, follow these steps to return the display to English:
1. Power the chair off, and then on.
2. From the MAIN MENU, select SETTINGS to disply the SETTINGS menu.
3. Select LANGUAGE, then select the desired language.
You can choose to view the remote in one of four different languages. You may also choose to turn off the beep you hear whenever you push a remote control button.
You can choose whether or not to hear a BEEP when you push remote control buttons. This setting is saved until you change it, even if the chair is powered off and on again.
1. From the MAIN MENU, select SETTINGS to display the SETTINGS menu, then scroll down to the second screen.
2. Select BEEP, then select ON (default) or OFF.
You can choose from eight relaxing SOUND SOOTHE nature sounds to accompany your massage.
IMPORTANT: The BLUETOOTH setting must be ON.
1. From the MAIN MENU, select SETTINGS to display the SETTINGS menu.
2. Select BLUETOOTH and verify that Bluetooth is set to ON.
3. Top off your massage with one of Sound Soothe’s eight built-in soothing nature sounds — you can even control the volume.
4. Select SOUND, press the right navigation button to display the SOUND menu, then choose the desired nature sound.
5. Select VOLUME, then select MIN, 2, 3, 4, MAX (default), or OFF.
TIP: To control the volume, press the fingertip control volume button on left-hand armrest then turn the outer silver ring.
To adjust the vertical massage range during an auto program:
1. Press one of the remote POSITION buttons .
2. If the ACUPOINT setting on the SETTINGS menu is set to AUTO, the ACUPOINT ADJUST SHLDR HGT DETECTING screen displays; the massage mechanism scans your back and automatically maps your massage for maximum effectiveness.
3. When AcuPoint Body® Sensing is complete, the ACUPOINT ADJUST SHLDER HGT ADJUST screen displays; use the remote POSITION buttons to adjust the shoulder height, if desired.
4. If the ACUPOINT setting on the SETTINGS menu is set to MANUAL, the SHLDR HEIGHT screen displays. Set the shoulder height to the desired position, ranging from small (1) to large (9). Your massage will automatically be mapped to the selected shoulder height, for maximum effectiveness.

Care & Maintenance
To keep your product working and looking its best, please follow these simple care guidelines.
WARNING:
1. Be sure to disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet before cleaning.
2. When cleaning the controller, fingertip control panel, or power switch, use a dry cloth only. Never use a damp cloth to clean the controller or power switch.
3. Be sure to test any cleaning solution on a small, inconspicuous part of the product to ensure that the color does not fade prior to using the solution on the entire product surface.
4. Do not use benzene, thinner or any other solvents on your product.
Cleaning Code Standard:
To maintain your Human touch product in optimum condition, follow the cleaning codes below:
Fabric and Sofhyde: Cleaning Code W
Dust frequently and/or vacuum with a soft brush vacuum attachment. If your product becomes dirty, use a water-based cleaning agent such a as a mild detergent or non-solvent upholstery shampoo product.
To clean foot and calf massage well inserts, unzip to remove the inserts from the chair, hand wash with a mild detergent, then line dry.
Leather
Dust frequently and/or vacuum with a soft brush vacuum attachment. If your product becomes dirty, use a leather cleaner free of oils and detergents. After cleaning, condition your leather with a leather-specific conditioner. It is recommended to condition your leather every year.
Maintenance and Repair:
1. The mechanics of this product are specially designed and constructed to be maintenance free. No periodic lubrication or servicing is required.
2. Your chair should only be serviced by an authorized service center.
3. Replace the four (4) 9V batteries that power the battery backup system after each use or once a year if unused.
Use and Storage Environment:
1. When not in use for a long period of time, we recommend that the chair be covered, the power cord be coiled and that the unit be placed in an environment free of dust and moisture.
2. Do not store near heat or open flame.
3. Do not leave this product exposed to direct sunlight for long periods of time. This may cause fading or damage.
4. Do not use or store in extreme temperatures; product stored in cold temperatures may require 48 hours at room temperature to function properly.
5. Product should be used and stored in an environment with non-condensing humidity ranging from 10 to 80%; excessive humidity will damage the mechanics.
Miscellaneous:
1. Foreign objects should not be inserted between the massage nodes or the unit housing.
2. Care should be taken not to overload the unit.

Your Super Novo X massage chair is a sophisticated combination of mechanics, electronics, and software working together to give you the ultimate massage. With such complexity comes opportunity for what we like to call massage chair “confusion.” So, should your massage chair exhibit any abnormal behavior, please do the following to fully reset the chair:
1. Press the POWER / PAUSE / RESTORE button on the remote, then select POWER OFF to restore the chair to the upright position.
2. Turn the chair’s power switch (on the rear of the chair) to Off.
3. Unplug the chair from the power source.
4. Wait 30 seconds.
5. Plug the chair back into the power source, then turn the power switch back On.
If your chair has no power:
1. Check the power cord - Make sure the power cord connection to the chair is secure and that the power cord is not damaged.
2. Check the wall outlet - Plug a known working device into the outlet to ensure the outlet is working.
3. Replace the fuse - Use a flat-head screwdriver to turn the fuse holder (located next to the power switch) counter-clockwise until it pops out. Replace the fuse with one of the spare fuses that came with your chair, or any 250V, 5A fuse.
Just like with any other electronics, this simple reset sequence will resolve many issues. If, however, your issue remains, please do the following before contacting our customer experience team (this will help us help you much more quickly):
1. Locate the serial number on label on the back of your chair and write it down.
2. Locate your proof of purchase, as we will need it to process any warranty claim.
3. Write down the specific steps you took before experiencing the problem. For example: “I sat down in the chair, then I selected Cloud Touch on the remote, then I selected Foot/Calf, then I heard a loud noise that is not normal.”
