Cleaning and sanitizing instructions depend on your chair’s upholstery material. Before using any product, confirm whether your chair has SōfHyde®, another synthetic upholstery, or genuine leather.

Before cleaning or sanitizing your chair

Follow these precautions:

1. Turn off the chair and disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet.
2. Use a dry cloth only on the controller, power switch, electrical connections, and other electronic components.
3. Never apply liquid or use a damp cloth on the controller or power switch.
4. Test any cleaning or sanitizing product on a small, inconspicuous area first.
5. Confirm that the product does not discolor, fade, dry, crack, or otherwise affect the upholstery.
6. Do not use benzene, thinner, or other solvents.
7. Do not saturate the upholstery or allow liquid to enter seams, openings, or electrical components.
8. Allow the chair to dry completely before reconnecting the power or using it.

How do I routinely clean synthetic upholstery?

The Super Novo 2.0 and other applicable Ascent Series chairs have a Cleaning Code W, which means a water-based cleaning solution should be used.

For routine care:

• Dust the chair frequently.
• Use a vacuum with a soft-brush attachment when needed.
• Clean soiled upholstery with a water-based upholstery cleaner.
• Spot-clean stains with upholstery shampoo or mild detergent foam.
• Test the cleaning product on a hidden area before treating the entire surface.

Instructions may vary by chair model. Do not assume that Cleaning Code W applies to every Human Touch product.

How can I sanitize SōfHyde or synthetic chair upholstery?

For applicable Human Touch massage chairs with SōfHyde or similar synthetic upholstery, Human Touch recommends either:

• Lysol® Disinfectant Spray

Using GymWipes Antibacterial Fast 4

1. Disconnect the chair from the electrical outlet.
2. Test the wipe on a small, inconspicuous area.
3. Gently wipe the desired upholstery surface.
4. Follow all instructions and precautions on the GymWipes label.
5. Allow the upholstery to dry completely before using the chair.

Using Lysol Disinfectant Spray

1. Disconnect the chair from the electrical outlet.

3. Lightly mist the upholstery without saturating it.

Can I use alcohol or another disinfectant?

Do not assume that an alcohol-based cleaner, disinfecting wipe, bleach solution, or another sanitizing product is safe for the upholstery.

Human Touch does not guarantee that an untested cleaning or disinfecting product will not discolor, dry, crack, or damage the material. Use only products permitted by your model’s use and care manual or current Human Touch care instructions.

Can I disinfect genuine leather upholstery?

Genuine leather is permeable and absorbent. It should not be treated in the same manner as SōfHyde or other synthetic upholstery.

For leather:

• Use only a high-quality cleaner and conditioner intended for genuine leather.
• Follow the leather-care product instructions.
• Test the product on a small, inconspicuous area first.
• Do not use GymWipes, Lysol, alcohol, bleach, or another disinfectant unless the product is specifically approved for that type of leather.
• Do not saturate the leather.

Human Touch cannot guarantee that a disinfectant will not stain, discolor, dry, or damage genuine leather. Leather upholstery may not be appropriate for an environment that requires frequent surface disinfection or decontamination.

How do I clean the foot and calf massage-well inserts?

If your chair has removable foot and calf massage-well inserts:

1. Unzip and remove the inserts from the chair.
2. Hand-wash the inserts using a mild detergent.
3. Line-dry them completely.
4. Do not reinstall the inserts until they are fully dry.

Do not machine wash or machine dry the inserts unless the use and care manual for your model specifically permits it.
