What should I do if the remote turns on but my chair does not respond?
If your Human Touch® chair’s remote control powers on but the chair does not respond to its commands, perform a complete power reset and check the remote connection.
Step 1: Reset the chair
- Turn off the chair using its main power switch.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 15 seconds.
- Plug the power cord securely back into the wall outlet.
- Turn on the chair using its main power switch.
- Test the remote again.
Step 2: Check the remote-control connection
If your model has a detachable remote-control cable:
- Turn off and unplug the chair.
- Locate the point where the remote-control cable connects to the chair.
- Disconnect the cable carefully.
- Inspect the plug and connection for visible damage or bent pins.
- Reconnect the cable in the correct position and confirm that it is fully secured.
- Plug in and turn on the chair.
- Test the remote again.
Do not force the connector or attempt to repair damaged pins, cables, or electrical components.
If the chair still does not respond
If the remote powers on but the chair remains unresponsive, submit a Human Touch Service Request.
Include:
- Chair model
- Chair serial number
- Proof of purchase
- Description of the issue
- Troubleshooting steps completed
- Photo or video of the remote and chair response, if available
Do not continue troubleshooting if you notice smoke, sparks, excessive heat, a burning smell, or another possible electrical concern. Turn off and unplug the chair if it is safe to do so, and include the safety concern in your Service Request.
